Data Deletion Policy

This Data Deletion Policy explains how you can request deletion of your account and personal data on Nearby Cars (mobile app and website). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to users who have registered an account on Nearby Cars and to personal data we process in connection with that account, listings, chats, and related services.

How to delete your account

You can delete your account yourself from the app or website:

• Mobile app: Open Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
• Website: Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account.

We will send a one-time password (OTP) to your registered email. Enter the OTP to confirm. After confirmation, your account is permanently deleted and you will be signed out.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access your account, email us at info@nearbycar.in from the email address linked to your account. Include:

• The subject line: Account / Data Deletion Request
• Your registered email address
• Any listing IDs you want us to check (optional)

We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request. We will process verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable law.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove or anonymize personal data associated with your account from our active systems, including where applicable:

• Account profile details (name, email, photo, and related profile settings)
• Your listings and listing images
• Favourites and follow relationships
• In-app chat rooms and messages linked to your account
• Ratings, reports, and notifications linked to your account
• Session and authentication tokens for your account

What may be retained

Some information may be retained where required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate business purposes, including:

• Records needed to prevent reuse of a deleted email for a new account on Nearby Cars
• Aggregated or anonymized data that no longer identifies you
• Data we must keep under applicable law (for example, dispute, safety, or regulatory records)
• Backups that are overwritten on a normal backup cycle

Where retention is required, we limit access and keep the data only as long as necessary.

After deletion

• You will no longer be able to sign in with the deleted account.
• Your public listings and profile will no longer be available on Nearby Cars.
• You cannot create a new account using the same email address that was deleted.
• To use Nearby Cars again, register with a different email address.

Third-party services

Nearby Cars may use third-party services (for example analytics, crash reporting, ads, or push notifications). After your account is deleted from our systems, data held by those providers is handled under their own privacy policies. Where we can request deletion from a provider on your behalf, we will do so as part of processing your request.

Children

Nearby Cars is not intended for children under 16 years of age (or such higher age as required by applicable law). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at info@nearbycar.in so we can take appropriate action.
